Vickie Brown Obituary

Vickie Rena Brown born August 10, 1960;  Houston, Texas to the parentage of Robert and Jannie Long.  She departed this earth on      January 7, 2025 after courageously battling many health adversities over her lifetime. 

Vickie has reunited with love ones who preceded her in death, her parents Robert L. Long Sr. and Jannie P. Boykin-Long, and her sister Retia L. Long.  In 1994, Vickie was married to the love of her life Charles Edward Brown, to this union a son Chandler E. Brown was born. The couple made their home in  Kaufman, TX, and for 31 years their love endured the test of times.  Vickie joined Bold Pilgrim Baptist Church at an early age and served as a youth choir member and remained a member until her passing.

She graduated from Kaufman High School in 1979, and briefly attended Prairie View A&M University.  She worked in Home Health Care services with Advance Alliance Inc., Taos  Staffing Corporation, and Caring Home Health Inc.  She spent the last years of her life as a caregiver to her beloved husband. 

Vickie’s memory will be honored and kept alive by her husband: Charles E. Brown, son: Chandler E. Brown; brothers: Robert (Huck) Long Jr.,  Richland, WA; Roland Long (Carla) Houston, TX; Reginald Long, Beaumont, TX; Billy Long, Houston, TX; sisters: Nealie (Becky) Christopher, St. Paul, MN; Shelia Renchie (Don), College Station, TX;  sisters-in-laws: Carolyn Jackson (Claborn) Dallas, TX; Sandra   Randall (Marvin) St. Louis, MO; Wanda Maranilla (Larry) Accokeek, MD; Debra Beard, McKinney, TX; Doris Brown (Leon)    Atlanta, GA; brothers-in-laws: Donald Brown, Sacramento, CA., Timothy Brown, McKinney, TX; Kenneth Brown, Dallas, TX.  Vickie was  affectionately known by her nieces and  nephews as Auntie/Aunt Vickie.  She also leaves two uncles: Albert Boykin (Dixie) Zavalla, TX and Elsworth Boykin of Zavalla, TX, Aunt: Billie Daniels of Houston, TX, a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
