A Beautiful Life
Born to the parents of Oscar Lee Prox Sr. and Montana (Eldridge) Prox on April 26, 1941. She is the fifth-oldest child of 8 siblings. Evie Pearl attended Pyle High School in Kaufman.
She met and fell in love with Charlie Ray Wren Jr., and they were married on May 28, 1960.
Evie Pearl was a life-long homemaker!! Evie Pearl accepted Christ at an early age as a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a devoted and active member serving as an usher, a children’s Sunday School teacher, and a choir member under Pastor Clabe Berkley. She later joined her husband as a member of the Free Church of God True Holiness, under the leadership of Bishop Joel Wren. Later, she joined Faith of Deliverance Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Joe Gary Prox (her baby brother). Her favorite two church songs were “Call His Name” and “Jesus Made Me.” If you knew her and asked her how she was doing, her response would be, “Fine and Beautiful!”
Evie Pearl is preceded in death by her husband: Charlie Ray Wren Jr., her daughter: Carlous Wren, her mother and father: and her siblings: Oscar Jr., Johnny, Larry, Juanita, Frankie, and Eva Mae.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories her children: Florence (Don), Ray Charles (Lydia), Pearline (Dave), Criss Ann, Calvin, Tina (Fred), Vicky, Ricky (DeDe), and Dee; her god-daughter: Annouthanet; son-in-law: Willie; 42 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild,1 surviving brother: Joe Gary Prox (Gloria), 4 other surviving sisters-in-law (Berta, Lester, Bobbie, and Diane), 3 surviving brothers-in-law (Roy, Robert, and James); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends!!
