Damontre' Strawn Obituary

Damontre’ Devaun Strawn was born on August 11, 1999 to Douglas and Sherry Strawn in Ennis, Texas. He received his education from Ennis ISD, where he graduated with the class of 2018, and later graduate with his associates from Navarro College.

He shared an especially close bond with his cousins, Dimetra King, Alexa Melancon (Nae) and Amiyah Melancon (Mya), who were more like sisters to him. Their relationship was filled with laughter, deep conversations, and countless cherished memories. From playing board games and cards to traveling together, they created a lifetime of joyful moments side by side. Their connection was one of those rare and beautiful friendships that stand the test of time—a true testament to love and family.

Damontre’ will be remembered as a rare kind of light, the kind that lit up a room as soon as he walked into any room. His presence shined brighter than the sun and his laughter was the kind you could feel in your bones. Damontre’ lived a life defined by kindness, joy, and unwavering love for the people around him.

Damontre’ cherished time with family and friends, turning even ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. A true lover of life, he found joy in exploring the world—whether basking under the sun on a sandy beach, jetting off to new destinations, or dancing in the energy of live music at his favorite concerts. His passion for sound extended into his own creativity, often losing himself in the rhythm of making his own music. Always on the move, Damontre’ balanced his vibrant social life with a commitment to wellness, spending time in the gym and finding joy and focus on the tennis court. He lived with intention, passion, and a glow that couldn’t be ignored.

Damontre leaves to cherish his memory, his father: Douglas Strawn, his mother: Sherry Strawn, his two older sisters: Kiera Strawn and Brenda Burley, his younger brother: Dorion Strawn, and his grandmother:  Florence Young-Strawn (Maw Maw). His bonus family: Tony, Theresea, and Tori Wilhoite. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, friends and many many cousins.
